A’AMAAL OF THE DAY OF A’RAFAH


In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

 

  1. Have a Ghusl /bath.

  2. Recite the Ziyaarat of Imam Husayn (A.S.)

  3. Recite a 2 Rak—a’t Salaat after Z’uhr and A’s’r prayers as under:

    In the first Rak—a’t, after the recitation of Soorah Al Faatih’ah, recite Soorah Al Ikhlaas.

    In the second Rak—a’t, after recitation of Soorah Al Faatih’ah, recite Soorah Al Kaafiroon.

  4. Recite a 4 Rak—a’t Salaat in 2 sets of 2 Rak—a’t each as under:
    In every Rak—a’t, after the recitation of Soorah Al Faatih’ah, recite Soorah Al Ikhlaas 50 times.

  5. Recite the following which the Holy Prophet (S.A.) used to recite:

Glory be to He whose Arsh is in the heavens!

Glory be to He whose Will operates in the earth!

Glory be to He who examines (the dead) in the graves!

Glory be to He who surfaced a path over the ocean!

Glory be to He who has the total control over the Fire!

Glory be to He who surrounds the Paradise with (His) mercy!

Glory be to He who will do justice on the Day of Judgement!

Glory be to He who raised the sky!

Glory be to He who spread the earth!

Glory be to He from whom there is no running away unless (one takes refuge) with Him!

  

 

(i) SUBH’AANALLAD’EE FIS SAMAAA—I A’RSHUHU SUBH’AANALLAD’EE FIL ARZ”I H’UKMUHU SUBH’AANALLAD’EE FIL QUBOORI QAZ” AAA—UHU SUBH’AANALLAD’EE FIL BAH’RI SABEELUHU SUBH’AANALLAD’EE FINNAARI SULT’AANUHU SUBH’AANALLAD’EE FIL JANNATI RAH’MATUHU SUBH’AANALLAD’EE FIL QIYAAMATI A’DLUHU SUBH’AANALLAD’EE RAFA—A’S SAMAAA SUBH’AANALLAD’EE BASAT’ALARZ” SUBH’AANALLAD’EE LAA MALJA—A WA LAA MANJAA MINHU ILLAA ILAYH

(ii) Say

Glory be to Allah. (All) praise be to Allah. There is no god save Allah. Allah is the Greatest

  

SUBH’AANALLAAHI WAL H’AMDU LILLAAHI WA LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAHU WALLAAHU AKBAR.

(iii) Recite Soorah Al Ikhlaas 100 times.

(iv) Recite Aayaat ul Kursee 100 times.

(v) Recite Salawaat 100 times

(vi) Say 100 times:

There is no god save Allah, the Only One. He has no partner. Sovereignty belongs to Him. (All) Praise belongs to Him. He gives life, puts to death, makes dead, and brings to life. He is Ever-Alive, never non-existent, in His hand is the good. He is able to do all things.

  

LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAHU WAH’DAHU LAA SHAREEKA LAHOO LAHUL MULKU WA LAHUL H’AMDU YUH’YEE WA YUMEETU WA YUMEETU WA YUH’YEE WA HUWA H’AYYUN LAA YAMOOTU BI—YADIHIL KHAYR WA HUWA A’LAA KULLI SHAY—IN QADEER

(vii) Say 10 times:

I ask forgiveness of Allah. There is no god save He, the Ever-Alive Eternal; and unto Him I turn repentant.

  

ASTAGHFIRULLAAHAL LAD’EE LAA ILAAHA ILLAA HUWAL H’AYYYUL QAYOOM WA ATOOBU ILAYH

(viii) Say 10 times:

 

O Allah!

 

O Beneficent!

 

O Merciful!

 

O Creator of the heavens and the earth.

 

O Owner of might and majesty.

 

O Ever-Alive! O Eternal!

 

O Giver! O Bestower!

 

O “There is no god save Thou”!

 

So be it

  

YAA ALLAAH

YAA RAH’MAAN

YAA RAH’EEM

YAA BADEE—A’S SAMAAWAATI WAL ARZ”

YAA D’AL JALAALI WAL IKRAAM

YAA H’AYYU YAA QAYYOOM

YAA H’ANNAANU YAA MANNAAN

YAA LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ANTA

AAMEEN

(ix) Recite:

O Allah I beseech Thee. O He who is nearer than my jugular vein. O He who intervenes between the body and the soul. O He who is in the heavenly heights; and true horizons. O He who is Beneficent on the established A’rsh. O He like unto whom there is nothing and He is Hearing, Seeing. I ask Thee to send blessing on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad.

  

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS—ALUKA YAA MAN HUWA AQRABU ILAYYA MIN H’ABLIL WAREED YAA MAN YAH’OOLU BAYNAL MAR—I WA QALBIH YAA MAN HUWA BIL—MANZ’ARIL AA’—LAA WA BIL—UFUQIL MUBEEN YAA MAN HUWAR—RAH’MAANU A’LAL A’RSHIS—TAWAA YAA MAN LAYSA KAMITHLIHEE SHAY—UN WA HUWAS SAMEE—U’L BAS’EER AS—ALUKA AN TUS’ALLIYA A’LAA MUH’AMMADIN WA AALI MUH’AMMAD

 

    6.    Imam Jaa’—far As Saadiq (A.S.) had advised the faithfuls to recite the following Salawaat:
 

O Allah! O the Most Generous who gives more than all the givers! O the Best (eternally) Besought of all those who are beseeched! O the Most Merciful of all the merciful! O Allah send blessing on Muhammad and on his children in the earlier times, and send blessings on Muhammad and on his children in the later times, send blessings on Muhammad and on his children, (in the midst of those) living in a satisfying state of the highest degree, send blessings on Muhammad and on his children in the midst of the Messengers.

O Allah give to Muhammad and his children (all) rights of being “the means of approach” (unto Thee), and abundant merits, distinctions, high ranks, and most important privileges.

O Allah I have accepted the “truth of Muhammad” (Allah’s blessings be on him and on his children), though I have not met him, therefore let it not be that I am deprived of his vision on the Day of Judgement, and let my life (in the Hereafter be spent in his company, make me follow his creed,

let me quench my thirst from his cistern (Kawthar), thoroughly, in plenty, gliding the wholesome water pleasantly down the throat, never ever to be thirsty again,

Verily, Thou art able to do all things. O Allah I have accepted the “truth of Muhammad” (Allah’s blessings on him and on his children), though I have not met him, therefore, let me remain aware of his true aspects in the Paradise. O Allah convey to Muhammad (Allah’s blessings be on him and on his children) my much compliments and salutations.

  

ALLAAHUMMA YAA AJWADA MAN AA’—T’AA WA YAA KHAYRA MAN SU—ILA WA YAA ARH’AMA MANIS—TURH’IM ALLAAHUMMA S’ALLI A’LAA MUH’AMMADIN WA AALIHEE FIL AWWALEEN WA S’ALLI A’LAA MUH’AMMADIN WA AALIHEE FIL AAKHIREEN WA S’ALLI A’LAA MUH’AMMADIN WA AALIHEE FIL MALAA—IL A’ALAA WA S’ALLI A’LAA MUH’AMMADIN WA AALIHEE FIL MURSALEEN ALLAAHUMMA AA’—TI MUH’AMMADAN WA AALAHUL WASEELATA WAL FAZ”EELATA WASH SHARAFA WAR RIF—A’TA WAD DARAJATAL KABEERAH ALAAHUMMA INNEE AAMANTU BI—MUH’AMMADIN S’ALLALLAAHU A’LAYHI WA AALIHEE WA LAM ARAHU FA—LAA TAH’RIMNEE FIL QIYAAMAH RUWYATAHU WAR—ZUQNEE’S’UH’BATAHU WA TAWAFFANEE A’LAA MILLATIHEE WAS—QINEE MIN H’AWZ”IHEE MASHRABAN RAWIYYAN SAA—IGHAN HANEE—AA LAA AZ’MAA—U BAA’—DAHU ABADAA INNAKA A’LAA KULLI SHAY—IN QADEER ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AAMANTU BI—MUH’AMMADIN S’ALLALLAAHU A’LAYHI WA AALIHEE  WA LAM ARAHU FA—A’RRIFNEE FIL JINAANI WAJHAHU ALLAAHUMMA BALLIGH MUH’AMMADAN S’ALLALLAAHU A’LAYHI WA AALIHEE MINNEE TAH’IYYATAN KATHEERATAN WA SALAAMAA

(7) Recite Dua’a “Ummi Daawood”.

(8) Recite the 4 “Tasbihaat” (each in 10 sections)

(9) Recite Dua’a “ ALLAAHUMMA MAN TA—A’BBA—A WA TAHAYYAA”.

Recite Imam Husain (as) Dua

Recite Imam Zain ul abidin (as) Dua
